I really hate it when you don’t realize you’re missing important menu items for Christmas dinner until AFTER all of the stores are closed for Christmas Eve! Grr…. Ah well… I guess we’ll just have to compromise without any dinner rolls. My mom started a tradition several years ago with a quick, delicious recipe she’d found in one of those little holiday booklets they always have at the check out stand. You take Pillsbury bread stick dough, twist two together into the shape of a candy cane, brush melted butter over the top, sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese (the kind you put on spaghetti) and bake. They are SOOOOOO yummy! And we forgot the blasted Parmesan cheese.
I tell ya, this last minute running is for the birds – yet every Christmas, we’re out there with the millions of others doing the same thing. We’re all masochists. Just own it.
To all of my wonderful Blogland bloggers out there, I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow and if you just so happen not to celebrate that particular holiday, I still hope you have an amazing day. ‘Tis the season; and that, I think, everyone could use a little more of in their lives. So remember, be cheery, be giving, be thankful or at least be. 🙂
