Bottled Gumption

The Daily Press is asking: Think about what you wanted to accomplish last week. Did you? What are the things that hold you back from doing everything you’d like to do?

Not too long ago, over at Mindful Digressions, Doobster wrote a post about being in motion.  A Newtonian piece about the tiring affects of not being in motion and it reminded me then about my plans to get back into some kind of exercise program, myself.  So, last week, I set out to start putting my Wii to better use other than Mario Carts and break out the Zumba 2 dance your ass off exercise game!  (Minus the layer of dust, of course.)

Did I?  Uh, do they sell gumption in a bottle full of carbonated, fruity flavored yumminess?  Pfft! No.

What are the things holding me back?  HULLO!  DAILY PROMPTS!

Okay, you’re right, I’m just farkin’ lazy.  I’ll own it.

But, I also set out to reread the classics and I’m happy to report that my page turning skills are getting better each day, thanks to good ol’ Steinbeck. 🙂

  1. Yeah, that “farkin’ lazy” thing is a real problem. I plan to start going to a gym and begin a regular exercise routine. I just have yet to set that plan in motion, so to speak.

    1. That’s the hardest part, I think. Once started, it shouldn’t take too much to keep going, but taking that first step feels like hiking up a mountain!
