Triple Lyric Tuesday

I always try to get a good mixture for these posts, which can be tricky when there’s only 3 songs – but today’s selection is definitely a powerful bunch.  For me, these choices are songs I never get tired of hearing, and when they do come on, they not only capture my undivided attention, but I can’t seem to sit still, either – even while driving.

Enjoy!

Coldplay2“You’re my scarecrow dream.  When they smashed my heart into smithereens, be a bright red rose come thrusting the concrete.  Be a cartoon heart.  Light a fire without a spark, light a fire, flame in my heart.  We’ll run wild.  We’ll be glowing in the dark…”

~ Charlie Brown by: Coldplay

fleetwood_mac_1“Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night.  Run in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies.  Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light.  And if you don’t love me now, you will never love me again.  I can still hear you sayin’ you would never break the chain…”

~ The Chain by: Fleetwood Mac

Shiny_Toy_Guns_by_Burninggraphics“Black rose and radio fire, it’s so contagious.  It’s like something changing my mind, I’m gonna take what’s evil…”

~ You Are The One by: Shiny Toy Guns

  1. Not a fan of Coldplay, but you’ve got to love the Mac (especially with the line-up at the time of ‘The Chain’), and Shiny Toy Guns is not a band I have heard of… however having just listened to ‘You Are The One’ I must say that I really enjoyed the fusion between electronica, grunge and pop-rock. Same too with Major Tom. Thanks.

    • Fleetwood Mac is probably my favorite ‘classic rock’ band, but I prefer their least played songs like “Beautiful Child,” “Storms,” and “Gold Dust Woman.” One can only hear “Rhianna” so many times, before it’s too much.
Shiny Toy Guns does have a unique sound, it was hard to decide which of their songs I wanted to post yesterday. It was almost “Chemistry of a Car Crash,” instead. 🙂 Thanks, as always, for commenting, Chris!
