Triple Lyric Tuesday

I’ve been looking forward to the end of the school year.  I’m one of those crazy moms that doesn’t mind having her kids around all of the time and realistically, I get more ‘me’ time when school is out.  No more running them to-and-fro, conferences, concerts, fairs, etc.  No more alarm clocks. Yay!  Unfortunately, our schools like to cram all of these huge events into the last week, so we’ve been super busy.  Come on, Friday!

So, in celebration of the rapidly approaching season of sun, I’m going with choices that remind me of summer this week. Enjoy!

Steal My Sunshine

Len

“I was frying on the bench slide in the park across the street
L-a-t-e-r that week
My sticky paws were into making straws out of big fat Slurpee treats
An incredible eight foot heap
Now the funny glare to pay a gleaming tear in a staring under heat
Involved an under usual feat
And I’m not only among but I invite who I want to come
So I missed a million miles of fun…”

Boys of Summer

Boys of Summer - screenshot 1

“Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice inside my head said, “Don’t look back. You can never look back”
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but-

“I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone…”

Smooth

“Man, it’s a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well, I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool

“My muñequita,
My Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
You’re my reason for reason
The step in my groove, yeah…”
