The Hot Seat 🔥 Autumn Brown

Hot Seat Banner

Welcome to another session of The Hot Seat, where I get to put our favorite Heroes and Heroines in the “hot seat” for a little Q&A! Today, I’m here with Autumn Brown from Didi Oviatt’s new Crime Thriller, Search For Maylee.

Now, normally I like to set the scene for the audience, so they can visualize who I’m interviewing, but Autumn is currently in disguise for a very important sting operation…so, go read the book.

AC: Welcome to The Hot Seat, Autumn, can you tell us a little more about yourself? Where you’re from and how you ended up in Denver in the middle of an undercover operation to take down a sex trafficking ring?

AB: Oh my, A.C. what a story I have for you! My niece Maylee was kidnapped at the age of eighteen three years ago. I finally mustered up the courage to chase after a lead in her case, and I wound up in a mess much bigger than anything I could have ever anticipated.

AC: I know you can’t say much about the investigation, so we’ll venture into some safer questions. What’s your view on relationships?

AB: Well, until now I’ve shunned even the thought of a relationship for nearly twenty years. I lost my husband in an accident shortly after we were married, and have had no desire to replace him. Let’s just say a man I used to loathe entirely proved himself to be more than what I expected.

AC: That sounds interesting, and maybe that your first impression wasn’t so great?

AB: For a man with the sexiest eyes I’ve ever seen, he sure did have a heartless attitude and a sure ego.

AC: Glad to hear his true colors were better than expected. Would you say he’s changed your previous views on relationships, then?

AB: I’d have to say Chance not only changed my views, but he changed nearly every aspect of my life. I’ll never be the same.

AC: Outside of your current situation, would you say you’re a social butterfly, family gal, career-oriented or a little of each?

AB: I’m a family gal through and through. I don’t have much family to claim so the few members I do love, I’ve dedicated myself to one hundred percent. I sold my condo as well nearly all of my belongings and moved halfway across the country to find my missing loved one. I’ll do anything to get her back.

AC: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

AB: I’m a planner by nature. Recently I’ve found myself in a few situations that there was no time to plan. I’ve had to trust my instincts, be brave, and let my intuition do the talking rather than figuring it out beforehand. If I could change anything about myself, it would be the confidence to throw the planning book out the window and trust in myself to do what needs to be done spur of the moment, without so much grueling fear.

AC: What is your biggest drive or mission in life?

AB: I’ve had to force myself to find the strength to face some very ugly situations in the name of my Maylee. I don’t have any children of my own, and I practically raised her. I miss everything about her, and I’ve feared for her life for three years now. My drive is to find her, dead or alive. I’ll either bring her home, or bring her justice.

AC: Let’s hope it’s the former. If Chance was sitting here, what would he say your best quality is?

AB: He’d say my stubbornness is both my best quality, and the most irritating. (sighs with a loving smirk)

AC: Compatibility in the boudoir is important. Describe your ideal lover.

AB: Chance showed me everything I’d been missing out on all these years plus some. I didn’t realize how much I needed to be felt and adored until he stripped me down, and made me his own. The equal measures of both give and take. For me, pleasure is in the passion and long awaited anticipation.

AC: If Chance could seduce you with his culinary skills, what dish would be the one to have you eating out of his hands, per se?

AB: I was once extremely out of shape with terrible eating habits. Since I changed my self destructing ways, I’ve grown very fond of fresh fruit and veggies smothered in vinaigrette. Chance could tie my hands behind my back, and hand feed me bite after bite of strawberries all day for all I care.

AC: Do you play any instruments, or sing? What kind of music do you listen to?

AB: I can’t carry a tune for the life of me, but I do still love music. I’m moody and like a verity, it really just depends on the moment.

AC: One of the fans’ favorite questions is: do you have any hidden tattoos or piercings?

AB: No, but I do have a birthmark on the back of my neck. It’s in the shape of a heart, and stands out against my kissed by the sun skin. Chance finds it irresistible.

AB: Thank you so much A.C. for having me! It’s been a pleasure!

AC: You’re welcome and thank you again for interviewing in the midst of your search, we wish you good luck in finding Maylee!
