SongLyricSunday

I’m happy to announce that I got the final edits back yesterday for Scavenger (Dark Day Isle #2)! I’m so excited, because to date, this has been one of the longest and worst struggles with a novel for me. The original version, the beta reads, the revisions…I honestly lost faith for awhile that it would ever get finished. It’s been well over a year (going on 2) since I released Collar Me Foxy and I never intended to make my readers wait so long for the next installment. My relief is ginormous right now!

That’s it, I don’t have a story to share for the Sunday challenge, but if it makes you feel any better the above paragraph is 100% true! 😀

And that’s this week’s theme: Truth

If you want to join in the fun or check out all the other participant’s song choices, please head over to This Thing Called Life One Word at a Time and read Helen’s interesting story on why she chose this week’s theme!

I’m sure my song choice can be perceived many different ways, but it’s always struck me as being about one of the hardest kinds of truths: the truth you know about the lies you’re allowing, and loving someone too much to let the truth ruin the comfortable façade of those lies even when you’re sure they’re going to get worse. Plus, I mean, who doesn’t love the voice of Gavin Rossdale? Yeah, I don’t care about his personal life, he’ll always be at the top of my list of favorite singers in the world. Enjoy!

Let it slide overhead
When I believe in you my soul can rest
But as love that’s really love can never fail
But fail it does
When we shine like the sun
You seem the only one my only friend

You’re so pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
So pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
When you’re faithful

I resigned from myself
Took a break as someone else
It’s like we’ve come undone
But I’ve only just become inflatable for you

You’re so pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
So pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
So pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
When you’re faithful

I don’t mind most of the time
But you push me so far inside

You’re so pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
So pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
So pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
So pretty in white, pretty when you’re faithful
When you’re faithful
When you’re faithful

  1. His voice is stunning! The lyrics are sad, though, aren’t they? It’s hard to face the truth, though, especially when things are good some of the time. Great pick! Good luck on your book!

    1. Thanks, Helen! I love his voice, been under the spell of it since his debut during the grunge scene in the 90’s. Thanks for the luck, too! 🙂

  2. OMG! How sad! Who belonged to whom? LOL! One of those small communities where everyone knows everyone…and your business! Good choice!

APPLAUSE on the final edits! You know I’m ready for some Felix/Tessa goodness!

Send some author inspiration this way so I can set Bruce and Olivia free! 😁

      1. As MUCH as I will HATE myself in a few days for doing this, I’m going to pass (*GULPS!*) on the ARC…so I can rush to download it on release day and lock myself in a room with it and a bottle of wine! LOL!

And…I need to get Olivia out of this black hole of author confusion! LOL!

      2. LMAO No worries, I was just putting the offer out there – I know there is a BIG difference between beta reading and just reading for the enjoyment of it! I don’t think you’ll need a full bottle of wine, tho, unless you just like the taste it LOL Felix isn’t scary like Saph.

Ugh, I wish you much much luck on the black hole and can relate. Hope you can get it worked out soon! 😀 ❤
