I’ve been trying to be good by staying away from my laptop, but as I was clearing out 500+ emails from my inbox I realized that wasn’t exactly practical. And though it’s very tempting to work on one of my many WIPs by being on here, it was even harder to pass up on this week’s music challenge. So, I’m cheating and joining in anyway. Tendinitis be damned.
This week’s theme is: Dreams
This was the first song to come immediately to mind, and frankly, I didn’t want to think of another. I can’t claim that I was a fan of every single Cranberries track ever recorded, but I did like several and this has never stopped being one of my favorites that reaches in and grabs me right away, brings a smile to my face and a lightness to my soul. The band carved their way with a unique sound, but Dolores O’Riordan’s voice is simply beautiful. As with all of the musicians who’ve passed over the years–too many before their time–her loss touches countless fans the world over. But, so does her legacy. Rest in peace Dolores.
Enjoy.
Oh my life is changing everyday
In every possible way
And oh my dreams
It’s never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems
I know I felt like this before
But now I’m feeling it even more
Because it came from you
Then I open up and see
The person falling here is me
A different way to be
I want more, impossible to ignore
Impossible to ignore
And they’ll come true
Impossible not to do
Possible not to do
And now I tell you openly
You have my heart so don’t hurt me
You’re what I couldn’t find
A totally amazing mind
So understanding and so kind
You’re everything to me
Oh my life is changing everyday
In every possible way
And oh my dreams
It’s never quite as it seems
‘Cause you’re a dream to me
Dream to me
