#RocktoberMusicfest ♫ “Separate Ways” – Journey

First concert I ever went to. No joke. It was amazeballs. I didn’t have to wonder about any hot rods, my mom definitely had a major crush on Steve Perry and he was possibly my very first “star” crush, as well. Out of all the songs I could have picked, I chose “Separate Ways”, because it’s one of their more rockin’ numbers.

When my dad got shipped back to Germany for another tour and we didn’t get to go, my mom took my sister and I down to Texas for about a year to stay with family friends of hers. One of the guys there looked exactly like Steve Perry, I swear, and he totally knew it, too, making sure to always dress like him and wear his hair the same way. Mom and I both almost flipped the first time we saw him, it was awesome. He also saved my life from a tornado, which is even more awesome.

Thanks again Steve Perry look-alike dude! 😀 (yes, I know his real name)

  1. Another fabulous song! Lots of great memories with Journey. That’s pretty cool that they were your first concert, and that you have a friend that looked like Steve Perry.

Thanks again for joining in the fun 🙂

  2. Melody,

Furtastic rock track! You can’t ever go wrong with Journey. That had to be hard on y’all when your dad had to be away in another country but I know it was equally painful for him, too. It’s interesting how parts of our lives are so intertwined with mewsic. So, glad your Steve Perry double saved you long ago in Texas! Have pAwesome weekend!
