#RocktoberMusicfest ♫ “You Could Be Mine” – Guns N’ Roses

I went through the same phase all kids eventually do, where I started listening to newer rock bands that my parents weren’t necessarily fans of; Beastie Boys, Twisted Sister, Mötley Crüe, etc.. Guns N’ Roses had enough mellow songs like “Patience”, “Sweet Child of Mine” and of course their remake of Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” for just about everyone to like them, though.

The reason why I chose this theme song from T2, rather than one of their earlier songs, is because seeing the movie with my friends is a great memory and I still think this is one of the best music videos ever made. In fact, the Governator should be in every music video, I don’t understand why that isn’t an industry standard yet. 😉

  1. I’ll admit I’ve never heard this one before. I used to listen to their earlier music, but they didn’t get as much play as the others and I eventually stopped listening. This one isn’t bad at all. I kind of like it. Thanks for the re-introduction!

    1. I’m not sure if this one showed up on any of their albums or was just made for the movie, but glad you liked it! 🙂

  2. Love me some GNR! You and I should definitely be friends…not only did we apparently grow up in the same generation and like at least some of the same music, I also review books on my blog – slowly getting back into that and trying to figure out how to move my music reviews from various other sites to my blog.

Anyway, just here via Rocktober MusicFest, and can’t wait to check out more of your blog and hopefully some of your books soon!

    1. Just got back from listening to your pick for today and yes, we definitely like the same music. I’ve been slowly building up to the heavier bands in my library, kind of doing a life-long influence of music for a theme. Thanks for stopping by and yes, we should be friends! And of course, I’m never going to say no to someone wanting to read my books, LOL 😉

  3. Melody,

GNR isn’t a band I listen to unless someone’s sharing. I don’t recall this song. Did they use it in the T2 movie? I watched it but I’m not recalling the song. Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of my favorite male actors from the 80s. My favorite flicks are True Lies and Kindergarten Cop. Although, these films released in the early 90s. That’s close enough, right? lol Thanks for sharing and have rocktastic good day!

    1. I do think they made it for the movie, but it probably only played in its entirety during the credits. True Lies was the best! Jamie Lee Curtis was the perfect actress to play his wife, I don’t think anyone else could’ve made it quite as memorable or funny. I’m trying to get caught up on posts I missed yesterday, so will be heading over to your site now! 🙂
