Although the band debuted in 1995, Evanescence’s debut studio album “Fallen” was the BEST thing to happen to the music scene in the early 2000’s. It was time for a change on the airwaves; Amy Lee and her band knew exactly how to bring it. Of course, it was the blockbuster movie “Daredevil” that really catapulted Evanescence’s exposure to a mass audience all at once with their most popular track “Bring Me To Life”, but there isn’t a single bad song on the entire album, nor for many of their albums after.
“Lithium” is one of my favorites that was released in later years, and who doesn’t like “Broken”, Amy’s duet with Seether? I wanted to go back to their earlier releases for my post though, because this song just happened to come out around the same time I was making the choice to “save myself” from some pretty bad choices, and remains one of my go-to songs when I’m feeling the need for some girl-powered rock. Enjoy!
