We’re in the homestretch now, Halloween is officially one week away today, so let’s make it count – like with the theme song from Charmed! This is one of the most covered songs in rock history, having various reincarnations spanning different genres. One of my favorite renditions was done by the former Russian band, Tatu. I love when female artists can remake songs generally sung by male artists and have it turn out great, and I personally think the instrumental portion of their version is the best.
In honor of my Halloween Playlist countdown, this cover of “How Soon Is Now” comes from The Craft soundtrack, which was performed by the band Love Spit Love.
Fun Fact: Fairuza Balk, who played the very disturbed bad witch, Nancy, in The Craft had first played Mildred, the underdog good witch, in the 1986 movie The Worst Witch starring Tim Curry. She also played Dorothy in Return to Oz in 1985. Being the super nerd that I am, I watched both of those movies on repeat as a kid, so recognized her instantly when I saw The Craft. Anyone else?
Enjoy!
