The Longest Night

Happy Winter Solstice. It’s officially the first day of Winter, despite what our frozen toes have been telling us for weeks! LOL

It’s also the longest night of the year. That means it’s time to cozy up with a cup of hot chocolate laced with candy canes (or peppermint schnapps), watch a few holiday movies, and snack on some delicious treats!

I just sent this to all my newsletter subscribers, so thought I’d share it here, too. Everyone loves finding new holiday recipes and this has been a fan-fav in my household for years.

Feel free to save this picture or print it out. I created it on Canva using free for commercial use photos off Pixabay, so there are no copyright issues for your use!

My boys used to love helping me make these when they were younger because they didn’t have to wait for anything to bake. They just rolled them in the coconut and popped them right into their mouths! 😂 Plus, the concoction tastes somewhat like cookie dough, which every kid (and adult) loves.

As tasty as they are, I’m hoping to expand my holiday recipes one of these days. Just not sure it will be this year.

I tasted Eggnog Cheesecake for the first time a few years back and have been craving it ever since—and I don’t even drink eggnog. At all. It’s never appealed to me, but it was hands-down, the best cheesecake I’d ever tasted in my life.

I would love to try out the recipe I found online with a Gingersnap crust, but I don’t have the right cooking pans because I’m lazy and haven’t made a crust from scratch since I was 18, lol. But there’s always next year!

Have a Merry Christmas, Everyone!

  1. Hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps is called a Snowman. And it’s gooooood. Don’t forget the whipped cream…

    1. Ooh, I didn’t know it was an official drink. Thanks for letting me know! 😁 It’s just something we used to have at least once a year, whether on Christmas or New Year’s. I prefer the candy canes over the schnapps now, but it’s still good. ☕
